YourDataScouting is run by Matt Reichenbach out of Rantoul, Illinois. Computer engineer by training, more than twenty years building data and automation systems that run in production, youth baseball coach, IHSA certified, and a parent of a player at the college level.

Why it exists

The analytics side of the game got good fast, and almost all of it got built for D1 budgets. A program with a full analytics staff gets a scouting packet on Monday. A program at D2, D3, NAIA or JUCO gets a coach copying numbers off a website at eleven at night, or gets nothing and plays the series blind.

That is not a talent gap. It is a tooling gap. The data those programs need is already sitting in exports and public stat pages. Somebody just has to turn it into pages a staff can use on Tuesday. That is the whole idea.

What the reports are built from

Most programs are already sitting on the data. If your park has a tracking system, the pitch-tracking export it produces is the input, and the reports are built straight from those CSV files. Radar exports, camera tracking exports, whatever your staff downloads after a game and rarely opens again. Nothing to install and nothing to change about how you record a game.

If your program does not have a tracking system, that is not a dead end. Publicly available conference and NCAA numbers still produce a full opponent report, with the same structure and the same written notes section. A staff with no equipment at all still gets a real packet before the series.

Affordable, customizable, repeatable

Affordable is the whole reason this exists: the reporting is priced for programs below D1, with no software subscription to carry and no analyst to put on payroll. Customizable means the first report or two are a conversation about what your staff actually reads, and the format follows that rather than the other way around. Repeatable means that once the format is worked out, the same report arrives the same way every series without a coach asking for it.

What has to be true before a report goes out

• Every number on the page is computed by code that runs the same way every time. Nothing is estimated and nothing is written from memory.
• The written scouting notes are generated from those computed values only. If a fact is not in the data, it does not appear in the prose.
• Validation gates run before delivery: roster accuracy, coverage of the games that should be included, and sanity checks on rates that look wrong.
• A person reads the finished report before it goes to a coach. A page that would waste a staff meeting does not get sent.

Onboarding is a conversation, not a checkout

Onboarding is done by hand on purpose. A coach fills out a short form, we set up the folder and the configuration for that program, and reports start showing up. There is no checkout, no login and no software for your staff to install. At this size the hands on approach is what keeps quality high, and it means a coach can ask for a change and actually get it.

What happens to your data

Your data is used for your reports. It does not get resold, republished, or handed to the program you are about to play. Public content, like conference level breakdowns, uses publicly available numbers only.
